Meteorology/Earth Sciences Colloquia Series

Presents Accomplished Scientist, Grady Dixon

11:00 a.m. Oct. 2

Eberly Hall, Room 120

The California University of Pennsylvania’s (CalU) Meteorology Club will be hosting its first speaker of the fall semester as part of its Fall Colloquia Series lineup.

Dr. Grady Dixon will speak at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Oct 2 in the Eberly Building of Science and Technology, room 120.  His research includes studying human-environment interactions such as how humans alter their local climate and how weather variations affect human health and mortality.  A physical geographer and meteorologist, Dixon is the Chair of the Department of Geosciences at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.

He will be speaking to CalU students and the public about tornado climatology and graduate opportunities.  If you have an interest in meteorology, this would be a great opportunity to interact with an accomplished scientist.  This presentation is open to the general public and is free of charge.  For more information contact the Colloquia Series chair, John Troutman at TRO7075@calu.edu or Dr. Majcen at majcen@calu.edu.
