The California University of Pennsylvania’s (CalU) Meteorology Club will be hosting its second speaker of the fall semester, Dr. Shalini Mohleji, as part of its Fall Colloquia Series lineup.

 

Dr. Shalini Mohleji will be speaking on Thursday, October 16th   at 11:00 a.m. in the Eberly Building of Science and Technology, room 120.

 

Dr. Mohleji is a Senior Policy Fellow with the American Meteorological Society Policy Program, where she specializes in natural disaster policy and science policy. 

 

Her presentation will explore some of the nuances in connecting science to society and the sensitivities at the intersection of science and policy. The discussion will also describe different paths for scientists to engage in the policy process and how to navigate such engagement responsibly and effectively.  Finally, the talk will highlight the current weather and climate issues of interest to Congress.
