A suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting in California Borough on Sunday morning. The suspect, Keith Edward Jones, 19, of Monessen, is in police custody.

Jones has been charged with criminal homicide in the death of Jeron Grayson, 18, of Pittsburgh. Neither man was a student at California University.

A Cal U student also was injured during the incident, resulting in additional charges.

A Monessen man has been arrested and charged in this crime. He is in police custody.

The Washington County District Attorney's Office is expected to provide details at a news conference later this morning.

At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 17, 2010, a shooting occurred off campus on Mechanic Street.

The shooter has not been apprehended and was last seen in the area of Second and Ash streets.

The perpetrator is described as a light-skinned black male, about 22 years old, thin build with dreadlocks, wearing a red shirt and white cap. He is described as having tattoos on his neck and arms, possibly with the letter "p" on his neck.

A weapon was recovered at the scene.

 

The California Borough Police are investigating, and University Police are cooperating with the investigation.
