STEELERS, ROBOTS ATTEND HOMECOMING
Posted on October 7, 2010
A Pittsburgh Steelers player and a robot named
Quasi will join Cal U's Homecoming crowd Oct. 16 at Roadman Park. Steelers safety Ryan Mundy will be signing
autographs from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Steelers University - Coca-Cola Traveling Great Hall Exhibit, located
in the parking lot near Adamson Stadium. The exhibition will be open from 1:30-3:30 p.m.,
after the Homecoming parade. Highlighting
the history of the Steelers organization, the Great Hall is a touring version
of the museum at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. The exhibition features photos,
jerseys, multimedia segments and the opportunity to broadcast a play-by-play
call of a great Steelers moment. Fans who stop by and register will have a chance
to win tickets to the Oct.
17 Steelers vs. Browns game or gift cards to the Steelers Sideline
Stores. Not
far from the Great Hall, Quasi the Robot will make his debut in the Carnegie
Science Center's Rockin' Robots: World
Tour show, produced in partnership with Cal U. Quasi
is a childlike animatronic robot who dreams of adventure and introduces
visitors to robots hard at work in factories, hospitals and homes. The interactive show includes multiple
adventure stations and many hands-on activities for children. Rockin' Robot: World Tour travels from the Carnegie Science Center
to schools throughout the region. A cost-effective alternative to traditional
field trips, the science show is customized for various grade levels and
aligned with national and Pennsylvania academic standards. The activities wrap up at 3:30 p.m.,
when the Vulcan football team takes on Slippery Rock University at 3:30 p.m. at
Hepner-Bailey Field at Adamson Stadium.
