

VOLLEYBALL FALLS IN NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

The women's volleyball team lost, 3-0, to top-seeded Clarion University in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Tournament finals. Playing at Edinboro on Nov. 21, the Vulcans lost by scores of 25-23, 25-18 and 26-24. Brandy Harris led the Vulcans with eight kills. Cal U finished the 2010 season with a 23-13 record. Clarion improves to 32-4 overall and advances to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight championships Dec. 2-4 at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky. Cal U made its sixth consecutive NCAA tourament appearance this season and competed in the regional championship for the fifth straight year. __ The women's volleyball team advanced to the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional championship finals following a 3-0 victory over host Edinboro on Nov. 20. Cal U won by scores of 25-17, 28-26 and 28-26. Brandy Harris led the Vulcans with 13 kills. Kelly Fromknecht and Meghan Franz added 12 and 11 kills, respectively. The three-time defending regional champion, Cal U moves on to the finals against Clarion University, playing at 3 p.m. Nov. 21 at Edinboro. The winner will advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight Championships Dec. 2-4 at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky. Making its sixth consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, Cal U improves to 23-12 overall this year. Edinboro closed its season with a 30-6 record. __ The women's volleyball team opened the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Tournament with a 3-0 victory over Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Playing at Edinboro University on Nov. 19, Cal U won by scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-23. Brandy Harris led the Vulcans with 14 kills. The three-time defending regional champion, Cal U moves on to the semifinals against Edinboro University at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 20. The Atlantic Regional tournament's final round will be held at 3 p.m. Nov. 21. Cal U is making its sixth consecutive NCAA tournament appearance. With this win the Vulcans' overall score improves to 22-2 this year. IUP finished the season at 21-11. The

Under
the guidance of third-year head coach Stephanie Burner, Cal U has been named
the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic Regional Tournament. The
Vulcans will face Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the first round of
play. The game begins at 5 p.m. Nov. 19 at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. The
winner of the Cal U vs. IUP game will face either Edinboro or Lock Haven on
Nov. 20 in the regional semifinals. The tournament’s final round will be held on Nov. 21
at 3 p.m. Winners of the past three NCAA regional titles, the
Vulcans are 21-12 overall this year. For
