Event Details The College Democrats at Cal U would like to introduce the campus community to some key candidates in the upcoming primary election. The group has invited to campus all seven candidates who are running in the Democratic primary election for the Washington County Board of Commissioners. The Meet-the-Candidates event is the campus community’s opportunity to have an informal discussion with the candidates. They will be available at 11 a.m. April 28 in Room 408 of Manderino Library. County commissioners are particularly important elected officials, because they are responsible for fiscal matters “including the annual budget, levying of real estate taxes and the investment of county funds,” according to the Washington County website. The commissioners also serve on numerous boards whose decisions affect area residents.
