TODAY: MOVE-IN DAY

Volunteers who wish to help new students move into the residence halls can register in the Natali Student Center Lobby beginning at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 25.

Volunteers do NOT need to register in advance; they will be given a residence hall assignment and a complimentary T-shirt (while supplies last).

Because Move-In-Day falls on a work day, staff cannot volunteer unless they use leave time.

Move-In Day Events

First-year students will be arriving on campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25.

Students who have last names beginning with the letters A –M can arrive on campus from 9 a.m. – noon. Students with last names beginning with the letters N-Z can arrive on campus from noon – 3 p.m.

After moving into residence halls, students and their families may enjoy free food, entertainment and giveaways at the Move-In Day Family Picnic from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. in the courtyard outside of Residence Hall C.

Registration is required to attend.

New students must attend a required residence hall meeting at 3 p.m.

Returning students will move-in to campus residence halls from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 28

'Cal U For Life' Orientation

On Aug. 26, first-year students at Cal U will begin an extensive Cal U for Life orientation program. Sessions are designed to acquaint new students with the campus and introduce them to Cal U traditions, core values, services and opportunities. The program closes Aug. 28 with the annual New Student Convocation in Hamer Hall beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Core Values Candlelight Ceremony in the Campus Quad.

Parking

Students and their families may park and unload their cars in designated areas near residence halls for a maximum of 15 minutes. After unloading, cars may be moved to one of the free parking lots on campus.
