The holiday season gets under way with a program of traditional musical favorites at 8 p.m. Nov. 21 in Cal U’s Old Main Chapel. The Cal U community and the general public are invited to the performance by the University Choir, the Cal Singers, the California String Ensemble and two a capella groups — the all-male Vulcanize and the women of Acapella Stella. Dr. Yugo Ikach will conduct the varied program, which includes a doo-wop version of “White Christmas,” the first movement of Karl Jenkins’ “Gloria,” Handel’s “Hallelujah” chorus and a number billed as “A Musicological Journey Through the Twelve Days of Christmas.”
