CAL U OFFICES CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAYS
December 19, 2011
With the exception of University Police, all Cal U offices will be closed for the holiday break from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1. Offices will re-open on Jan. 2.

NOISEMAKERS ADDED TO CROW DISPERSAL PLAN

Cal U again is taking humane measures to move large flocks of crows from campus. Beginning at dusk on Dec. 19, noisemakers called ‘bangers’ and ‘screamers,’ as well as bright lights and a natural, plant-based mist will be used to disperse the flocks.

Two distinguished alumni will address graduating students when Cal U holds its 173rd Commencement on Dec. 16 and 17. For the first time, the ceremonies will be held in the Convocation Center.

'MACHINES IN MOTION' CLOSES MAY 6

An interactive exhibit that opened Jan. 2 in the Convocation Center features 40 replicas of machines - an armored car, a working robot, a revolving crane and more - designed by famed artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci.

'CHRISTMAS CAROL' CONTINUES THROUGH DEC. 11

The Department of Theatre and Dance welcomes the holiday season with its production of "A Christmas Carol." Performances are set for 8 p.m. Dec. 8-10 in Steele Hall Mainstage Theatre, with matinees at 2 p.m. Dec. 10 and 11.

TODAY: NEW SCIENCE RIBBON-CUTTING CEREMONY

Three updated spaces in New Science Hall will be dedicated at 2 p.m. Dec. 7. The ribbon-cutting formally recognizes the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Facility, the Nanoscience Lab, and the student computing facility and study lounge in Room 236.
