BASKETBALL HANDLER WILL SPIN DURING HOOPS GAMES

Tanya Crevier bills herself as “the world’s best female basketball handler” — and even hoops legend Michael Jordan agrees: “When it comes to handling basketballs, Tanya is one of the best I’ve seen!”

Crevier will demonstrate her ball-handling skills, share tips, meet with kids and sign autographs Jan. 14 and 15 in the Convocation Center at Cal U.

—    Jan. 14: Vulcan women’s and men’s basketball, Cal U vs. Gannon University. The women’s game tips off at 3 p.m. Tanya Crevier appears during halftime of the men’s game, which starts at 5 p.m.

Cal U celebrates “Youth Basketball Night” with special prices for parents, families and coaches. Youth basketball players age 13 and younger will be admitted free if they wear their jerseys.

High school games in the Cal U Convocation Center begin at these times:

  • Noon — Uniontown vs. Ringgold
  • 2:15 p.m. — McKeesport vs. Bethel Park
  • 4:30 p.m. — Allderdice vs. Monessen
  • 6:45 — Washington  vs. Clairton

Ticket price is  $7 for adults, $3 for students (with school ID), $2 for seniors and children younger than 12. One ticket is good for all four games.

The festival is sponsored by student mentoring group Cal U Men United. Proceeds support scholarships for underrepresented students at Cal U.
