

BASKETBALL HANDLER WILL SPIN DURING HOOPS GAMES

Tanya Crevier bills herself as “the world’s best female basketball handler” — and even hoops legend Michael Jordan agrees: “When it comes to handling basketballs, Tanya is one of the best I’ve seen!” Crevier will demonstrate her ball-handling skills, share tips, meet with kids and sign autographs Jan. 14 and 15 in the Convocation Center at Cal U. — Jan. 14: Vulcan women’s and men’s basketball, Cal U vs. Gannon University. The women’s game tips off at 3 p.m. Tanya Crevier appears during halftime of the men’s game, which starts at 5 p.m. Cal U celebrates “Youth Basketball Night” with special prices for parents, families and coaches. Youth basketball players age 13 and younger will be admitted free if they wear their jerseys. — Jan. 15: Tanya Crevier appears during halftime at the Martin Luther King Jr. High School Basketball Festival. High school games in the Cal U Convocation Center begin at these times: Ticket price is $7 for adults, $3 for students (with school ID), $2 for seniors and children younger than 12. One ticket is good for all four games. The festival is sponsored by student mentoring group Cal U Men United. Proceeds support scholarships for underrepresented students at Cal U.
