A MESSAGE FROM ACTING PRESIDENT GERALDINE JONES

President Geraldine M. Jones In recent days you may have
read news reports about financial matters at Cal U. Not all of these reports
have been entirely accurate, and because University finances are very complex,
none of the reports have told the entire story. As acting president and a proud
Cal U alumna, I understand that these reports may raise questions about
University operations. Let me assure you that our leadership team is studying
these matters with great care. We are acting with due diligence to examine the
University’s finances, and to identify and implement opportunities for savings.
Working with the State System of Higher Education, we also are adjusting
policies and procedures as needed. Nothing is more important than
earning, and keeping, your trust. Cal U has always been mindful of the
sacrifices that students and their families make to pay for higher education.
We appreciate the generosity of our donors, and we value their contributions of
time, talent and treasure. We will continue to be good stewards of all funds
entrusted to our care. Please watch for regular
updates in the weeks ahead. I plan to keep you informed as our University moves
forward.
