THIS WEEK'S MESSAGE FROM ACTING PRESIDENT GERALDINE JONES
Posted on July 9, 2012
From: Acting
President Geraldine M. Jones I know that many members of
the University community, particularly students and their families, have been
waiting to learn the cost of tuition for the upcoming academic year.
To: All students,
faculty, staff, alumni and University friends
The PASSHE Board of Governors approved a 3 percent tuition increase, raising
tuition by $94 per semester, or $188 for the 2012-2013 academic year.
The new annual tuition rate for full-time, resident undergraduate students will
be $6,428.
The resident graduate tuition rate will be $429 per credit, an increase of $13.
The Board of Governors also increased the tuition technology fee by $10 for the
full academic year for full-time resident students.
This marks the fifth time in eight years that the increase in tuition at Cal U,
and at other PASSHE schools, has been either at or below the rate of inflation.
Attendance at Cal U, and at other PASSHE schools, remains the lowest-cost
option among all four-year colleges and universities in the Commonwealth.
I invite you to read the PASSHE news release, which highlights the State
System’s ongoing efforts to control costs while improving services for our
students. You can find this release, and other information, at http://www.passhe.edu/inside/ne/press/Pages/.
