Posted on January 28, 2013
The creative works of middle and high school students will
be on display on the third floor of Manderino Library through Feb. 10 as the
Scholastic Art and Writing Awards of Southwestern Pennsylvania once again comes
to Cal U. The exhibit is open to the public. To make arrangements to
view the student work, e-mail scholasticartandwriting@gmail.com. The students, from Washington, Greene and Fayette counties,
can apply in 28 categories of art and writing for the chance to earn
scholarships and have their works exhibited or published. Cal U arts and
writing faculty are among the judges for the awards. A ceremony for participants, parents and teachers will be
held at 2 p.m. Feb. 10 in Steele Hall. Students who win Gold Keys at the
regional level compete nationally and are recognized at a prestigious Carnegie
Hall ceremony, in addition to having their work exhibited at galleries in New
York.
