Cal U will mark National Voter Registration Day with a voter registration drive from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 24 in the courtyard outside the Natali Student Center.
An “open mic” will be available for students, faculty, and staff to express their views on the importance of voting and concerns about current policy debates.

"Voting matters:  It is a means to hold elected officials accountable and have your voice heard,” said Dr. Melanie Blumberg, director for the American Democracy Project at Cal U. “This is no more evident than in local elections where turnout is relatively low and results are decided by narrow margins.

“Pennsylvanians must be registered to vote by Oct. 7 in order to cast a ballot in the municipal elections this November.”
In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in the student center lobby.
The program is sponsored by the American Democracy Project at Cal U.
Co-sponsors are the Office of the Provost/Academic Affairs, the College of Liberal Arts, the Department of History and Political Science, the Women’s Studies program, the Frederick Douglass Institute, and APSCUF, the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Professors.
