The federal government shut down has lasted more than two weeks, and news reports point to “trickle-down” effects. What caused the shutdown? How does it affect our nation — and you? And what will it take to get the federal government up and running again?

Find out at a teach-in planned for 11 a.m. Oct. 17 in Duda Hall, Room 103. Panelists will give brief presentations on these topics.

A question-and-answer session will follow. Student participation is encouraged. This American Democracy Project event is free and open to the public. Co-sponsors are the Department of History and Political Science and the College of Liberal Arts. Visitor parking is available in the Vulcan Garage, off Third Street near the campus entrance.
