The Cal U Meteorology Club welcomes Fred McMullen, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, as the first speaker in the club’s 2013-2014 Meteorology/Earth Sciences Colloquia series.

McMullen will speak at 11 a.m. Nov. 12 in the Eberly Hall, Room 110.

He is a warning coordination meteorologist in the Weather Forecasting Office of the National Weather Service. Along with traditional forecasting responsibilities, he prepares weather briefings for outside agencies and handles public outreach, which includes emergency weather preparedness.

McMullen will explain more about his role and provide advice for those interested in a career in meteorology.

The public may attend this free lecture. Parking is available in the Vulcan Garage, off Third Street near the campus entrance.
