UPDATE: March 16, 2014

Cal U’s women’s hockey team lost 2-0 to North Dakota State in the third place game of the ACHA Division II National Tournament.

The Vulcans finish the season with a 19-7-0-4 overall record and advanced to the national semifinals for the first time.


UPDATE: March 15, 2014

Cal U’s women’s hockey team lost 2-1 loss to Penn State in the ACHA Division II National Semifinals.

The Vulcans now have a 19-6-0-4 overall record and will play North Dakota State in the third place game at 11 a.m. on March 16.


UPDATE: March 14, 2014

Cal U’s women’s hockey team concluded its second day of competition at the ACHA Division II National Tournament by advancing to the national semifinals following a 3-2 victory over Michigan State and a 2-1 setback to Iowa State. 

The Vulcans are now 19-5-0-4 overall and will play Penn State at 11 a.m. on March 15 in the program’s first national semifinals appearance.

The Cal U CHE men's hockey club (24-4) ended its season with a 5-2 loss to Davenport (Mich.) in the Pool B finals of the ACHA Division III National Championships.

Cal U's women's hockey club tied Wisconsin-LaCrosse 2-2 during the first day of the ACHA Division II National Tournament. The Vulcans are now 18-4-0-4 overall. 

On March 14, the women will play Michigan State at 10:45 a.m. and Iowa State at 8:15 p.m.

The men's CHE team plays at 4:30 p.m. today at the ACHA Division III National Tournament in Florida.


UPDATE: March 12, 2014

Cal U's CHE men's hockey club defeated Aurora (Ill.), 6-1, for their second straight victory at the ACHA Division III National Tournament in Florida.

With the win, the Vulcans improve to 24-3 overall.

The team plays Davenport (Mich.) at 4:30 p.m. March 13; the winner advances to the national semifinals.


UPDATE: March 11, 2014

Cal U’s Collegiate Hockey East (CHE) men’s hockey club defeated Ole Miss 8-2 during the first day of the ACHA Division III National Tournament in Florida. 

 The Vulcans improve to 23-3 overall. They will play Aurora (IL) on at 7:30 p.m. March 12.      

 


Two Cal U hockey teams are headed to the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) National Tournaments.

 

  • The women’s hockey team will compete in the ACHA Division II National Tournament, beginning March 13 at the Fred Rust Arena in Newark, Del. The tourney runs through March 16.
    The Cal U women (18-4-0-3 overall) are making their third consecutive appearance in the ACHA Division II Nationals. The Vulcans won their first-ever CHE championship with victories over West Chester (2-0) and Penn State (2-1) in York on the weekend of Feb. 21-22.
  • The CHE men’s team (21-2 overall) will compete in the ACHA Division III National Tournament at the Florida Panthers Ice Den in Coral Spring, Fla. Cal U will begin the tournament by playing Ole Miss on March 11. The tourney runs through March 15.
    This season marks the eighth time in 10 years that the Vulcans will compete at the ACHA Division III Nationals. Cal U won the ACHA national title in 2008 and reached the semifinals in 2011 and 2012.
