MEN'S GOLF UPDATE: May 7, 2014

The men’s golf team finished in eighth place after the third and final round of the NCAA Division II Super Atlantic/East Regional Tournament, in Sissonville, W.Va.

Cal U was 46 over-par. The Vulcans’ top two individual finishers were juniors Chris Bushey (+4) and Jordan Eck (+12) who finished tied for 11th and tied for 38th, respectively.


WOMEN'S GOLF UPDATE: May 6, 2014

The women’s golf team finished in fifth place at the NCAA Division II East Super Regional Tournament, in Noblesville, Ind.

Freshman Carla Maestre qualified for the National Championships by finishing tied for sixth individually at 17 over par. Sophomore Cara Vanderham (+26) tied for 22nd place.

Cal U was 104 over par at the tournament's close. Grand Valley State and Indianapolis tied for first in the team standings, at 71 over-par, followed by Findlay (+85).


MEN'S GOLF UPDATE: May 6, 2014

The Vulcan men’s golf team is 27 over-par and in ninth place after the second round of the NCAA Division II Super Atlantic/East Regional Tournament, in Sissonville, W.Va.

Junior Chris Bushey was the team’s top individual player through two rounds; he is tied for 11th at 1 over par.

The third and final round will be played on May 7.


MEN'S GOLF UPDATE: May 5, 2014

Cal U’s men’s golf team is 13 over-par and in eighth place after the first round of the NCAA Division II Super Atlantic/East Regional Tournament, in Sissonville, W.Va.

Junior Chris Bushey was the Vulcans’ top individual through round one and is tied  for 21st with an 2 over-par 73.

The second round begins at 8a.m. on May 6.


WOMEN'S GOLF UPDATE: May 5, 2014

Cal U’s women’s golf team is 75 over-par and in seventh place after the second round of the NCAA Division II Super East Regional Tournament, in Noblesville, Ind.

Freshman Carla Maestre was the Vulcans’ top individual through round two and is in 16th place at 14 over-par after shooting a 77. 

The tournament concludes with the third round at 8:30 a.m. on May 6.        


UPDATE: May 4, 2014

Cal U’s women’s golf team is 43 over-par and in eighth place after the first round of the NCAA Division II Super East Regional Tournament, in Noblesville, Ind.

Freshman Carla Maestre was the Vulcans’ top individual through round one and is tied for 20th with an 8 over-par 81.

The second round begins at 8:30 a.m. on May 5.        


Both of Cal U’s golf teams are headed to the NCAA Division II Super Regional Tournaments. 

 

Women’s golf

The women’s golf team will compete in the NCAA Division II East Super Regional Tournament from May 4-6 at the Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind.

The top three teams from the regional contest, plus the top three finishers who are not members of the advancing teams, will move on to the NCAA Division II National Championships from May 14-17 at the Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover, N.C.

The women’s golf team is making its eighth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Regional and has advanced to the NCAA National Championships in each of the past four seasons, finishing ninth last spring. 

Men’s golf

The men’s golf team will compete in the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional from May 5-7 at the Edgewood Country Club in Sissonville, W.Va.

The top three teams and the top two golfers not with a team from each Super Regional will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships from May 19-22 at the Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Mich.

This marks the seventh straight year the men’s golf team has have competed in the Super Regional. Last spring the Vulcans advanced to the NCAA II National Championship for the first time since the 1983 tournament, finishing 20th.
