Students seeking to advance their careers in the business or energy sectors can register now for 100% online programs being launched this fall.

Land management

  • The Bachelor of Arts in Jurisprudence: Land Management emphasizes legal topics related to the oil and gas industry, oil- and gas-related land management, surface and sub-surface geology and geographical information systems (GIS).
Designed for students who hold an associate degree or have completed at least 40 college credits, the program may be completed in four to six semesters, depending on the number of credit-hours earned prior to admission.
  • The Land Management Certificate is an accelerated program for students with at least a high school diploma.
The 30-credit program, which can be completed in five semesters, focuses on legal topics, oil- and gas-related land management, geology and geographical information systems (GIS).

Both online land management programs are designed to prepare students for challenging positions in the oil and gas industry, including staff or operations landman, support staff for an energy company or third-party contractor, property manager, leasing manager, or title abstractor.

Students who enroll in the bachelor’s degree program may be eligible for the Joe Hardy Scholarship for Land Management Studies.
