Cal U Health Fair.Health Fair

The Health and Wellness Education Center presents Cal U Health for Life, the University’s 28th annual health fair.

All members of the campus community, as well as the general public, may attend this free event.

About 50 health care experts will be on hand to discuss topics such as diabetes, nutrition, orthopedics and smoking cessation.

Central Blood Bank will conduct a blood drive.

Free screenings will be offered for:

  • Blood pressure
  • Blood glucose
  • Blood oxygen
  • Speech and hearing,
  • Balance

Mobile units

Two mobile medical units parked outside the Convocation Center will offer free services:

  • Pregnancy Resource Center of Pittsburgh: STD testing for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Also, schedule a pregnancy test/ultrasound screening at a later date and location.
  • Cornerstone Care of the United Way: breast cancer screenings by a nurse practitioner.

Giveaways and more

The first 700 people to visit the health fair will receive drawstring bags; stylus pens will be given to the first 1,900 students to arrive. Other prizes and giveaways will be offered.

WCAL, the campus radio station, will broadcast from the event.

Located less than one hour from Pittsburgh, California University of Pennsylvania is easy to reach via major highways and toll Route 43. Visitor parking is available in the Vulcan Garage, located off Third Street near the campus entrance.
