UPDATE: RUNNER PLACES 12TH IN 200-METERS

UPDATE: March 10, 2017

Sophomore Jae’Len Len Means placed 12th in the 200-meter preliminaries at the NCAA Division II Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 21.87 seconds on March 10.

He did not advance to the finals.

Both of Cal U’s track and field teams begin the outdoor portion of their seasons by hosting the California Early Bird Invitational on March 25.


UPDATE: March 9, 2017

Junior Summer Hill earned second-team All-American honors by placing 10th in the1-mile run preliminaries March 9 at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships. She missed qualifying for the finals by one place after breaking the school record with a time of 4:50.71. 

Classmate Julie Friend finished in 15th place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:39.41.

On the men’s side, sophomore Jae'Len Means will compete in the 200-meter preliminaries at 6:30 p.m. March 10.

Juniors Julie Friend and Summer Hill, and sophomore Jae’Len Means, will compete in separate events at the NCAA Division II Indoor Women’s and Men’s Track and Field National Championships March 9-11 at the Birmingham (Ala.) Crossplex.

Hill competes in the women’s mile run preliminaries at 5:30 p.m. March 9, with hopes of advancing to the finals at 4:15 p.m. March 11.

Friend competes in the women’s 5,000-meter run at 7:05 p.m. March 9.

Means takes part in the men’s 200-meter preliminaries at 6:30 p.m. March 10; the finals of that event are held at 5:30 p.m. March 11.
