WOMEN’S GOLF FINISHES 11th at REGIONAL

UPDATE, May 10, 2017

The women’s golf team finished in 11th place after the third and final round of the NCAA Division II Super East Regional Championships.

Senior Carla Maestre shot an even-par 72 in the third round and led the Vulcan individually by tying for 30th place overall.

The three-round tournament took place at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio.

This concludes the women’s golf team’s season.


Update, May 9, 2017

The women’s golf team is 95 over-par and tied for 10th place after the second round of the NCAA Division II Super East Regional Championships.

Senior Carla Maestre was 11 over-par 83 in the second round, and junior Cai Yan Ho is tied for 37th place heading into the final day.

The three-round tournament concludes May 10 at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio.


Update, May 8, 2017

The women’s golf team is 42 over-par and tied for eighth place after the first round of the NCAA Division II Super East Regional Championships.

Junior Cai Yan Ho was 6 over-par (78) in the opening round and is tied for 18th place heading into the second day.

The three-round tournament continues May 9 at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio.

The women’s golf team will compete in the NCAA Division II Super East Regional Championships May 8-10 at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio. 

The top three teams and the top three golfers not with a team from each super regional will advance to the  NCAA Division II National Championships, set for May 17-20 at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio. 

Cal U and Gannon were the only PSAC teams selected to compete in the 12-team regional event.

This marks the 10th time in 11 years that the Cal U women’s golf team has competed in the NCAA Super Regional contest. The team last qualified for the NCAA National Championship in 2013, when Cal U finished in ninth place.
