  • CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS RACING AT NATIONALS

    UPDATE: Senior Aaron Dinzeo finished second and earned All-American honors for the third time at the NCAA Division II Cross County National Championships in Louisville, Ky. Two other Vulcan runners also competed in the Dec. 6 contest.

    Distance runner Billy Mills, who won gold at the 1964 Olympic Games, will speak at 7 p.m. Aug. 6 in Steele Hall Mainstage Theatre. Guests may register to attend the free talk, which is part of the cross country team's annual summer camp.

  • DINZEO PLACES 5th IN 5,000 METERS

    Junior distance runner Aaron Dinzeo earned All-American honors by placing fifth in the 5,000-meter run at the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships. Freshman Julie Friend earned All-American honors with a sixth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase event on May 23.

    Playing at home in the NCAA Atlantic Regional 1 Tournament, Cal U’s softball team defeated Bloomsburg 5-2 before losing 2-0 to West Chester in the championship finals.

    The men’s golf team finished in eighth place at the NCAA Division II Super Atlantic/East Regional Tournament. The women’s golf team finished in fifth place at their super regional tournament. Freshman Carla Maestre qualified for the National Championships by finishing tied for sixth.
