Ride the Vulcan Flyer

The Vulcan Flyer fleet transports students, faculty and staff between the main campus and Roadman Park.

Shuttle rides are covered under the transportation fee, and all Vulcan Flyer shuttles are handicapped accessible.

The Vulcan Flyer is easy to recognize. Look for the image of Vulcan, the Cal U mascot!

The shuttle travels between Roadman Park and the main campus. After leaving the Roadman parking lot, shuttles stop at:

  • Mid-Mon Valley Transit Authority Park 'n' Ride (opposite Vulcan Village)
  • Building B
  • Corner of Hickory and Third streets
  • Manderino Library

On the return trip, shuttles stop at:

  • Vulcan Village
  • Roadman Park lot

The Vulcan Flyer schedule

You don't have to wait long for the Vulcan Flyer. Shuttles hit the road early every Monday through Sunday, and buses regularly run until midnight. Saturday service runs until 11 p.m.

A shuttle is scheduled to arrive at your stop every 15 minutes during peak hours.

On weekends, the Mid-Mon Valley Transit Authority's Valley 2 service is also available.

Shoppers Shuttle

The new Shoppers Shuttle will provide students, faculty and staff transportation to the new Walmart Supercenter in West Brownsville.

This extension of the Vulcan Flyer shutte route will run Monday through Saturday and arrive at Walmart every hour. The first bus will leave campus at 11 a.m., and the last Shoppers Shuttle will leave campus at 7 p.m. The last bus returning to Cal U will leave Walmart at 8:30 p.m.

Signs displayed on designated shuttles will signal their extended route. Students must present a CalCard to ride and may bring one guest per student.

NextBus

Use your desktop, laptop or smart phone to see when the Vulcan Flyer shuttle will reach your stop.

The NextBus shuttle tracker lets you follow the Vulcan Flyer fleet as the buses travel between Cal U's main campus and Roadman Park. Whether you're at your desk or on the go, you'll know just when your ride will arrive. Access the mobile website to use the NextBus shuttle tracker at http://m.calu.edu/Shuttle-Service/.

On-Campus Loop Shuttle

The on-campus shuttle transports students, faculty and staff to various spots around campus.

The campus shuttle will run from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday at various stops on main campus. There will be no service on Fridays or weekends. Please reference the campus shuttle map for stops. To find out when the next shuttle is arriving, please visit www.nextbus.com and select "campus loop" to receive arrival times.


 

 

During the summer months, the on-campus shuttle will not be in service.

Office Information

  • The Office of Parking and Transportation is open between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays to assist with parking registration and related concerns.

    Entrances to the office are located in Manderino Library and on the ground floor of the Vulcan Parking Garage. To reach the office from the parking garage, either park in the Vulcan Parking Garage or walk in to the garage from the Carter, Building B, Sixth Street or East Street entrances.
