International Applicants
California University welcomes students from countries throughout the world. If you are an international student who will stay in your country of origin while earning your degree through Global Online, follow these steps for admission consideration:
- E-mail the Undergraduate or Graduate Office to obtain a log-in ID. The undergraduate e-mail is inquiry@calu.edu or the graduate e-mail is gradschool@calu.edu.
- Apply online for admission.
- Pay the application fee.
- Evidence of proficiency in oral and written English is requested if the applicant's native language is not English. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is suggested. This test is given four times a year in testing centers all over the world. Further information about this test may be obtained from the nearest United States Embassy Consulate of information service, or by writing to the Education Testing Service, Princeton, NJ U.S.A 08540 or at www.toefl.org. An official copy of the TOEFL score must be sent from the testing center. (Note: Photocopies are not acceptable. A report from an overseas English teacher or professor is NOT acceptable.) A minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test, 213 on the computer-based test or 80 on the Internet-based test (iBT TOEFL) is required for most programs. An official copy of the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 6.0 may be substituted for the TOEFL score. IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. For more information, click here: www.ielts.org
- International students must arrange to have photocopies of their post-secondary diploma(s) submitted to one of the following organizations for a document-by-document evaluation:

Students should contact the organization to request an application (or visit the website to download an application), complete the application and list California University of Pennsylvania Graduate School or Undergraduate School as the recipient, and return it to the organization with the required fees and credentials. This process can take up to four weeks after all the documents are received. Check with the service(s) for their specific fee structure.
Canadian Applicants: Students who have an undergraduate degree from a Canadian college or university and are seeking admission into a Global Online graduate program need only submit their official transcript to the Graduate School. If it is similar to the materials from the United States model, they will be evaluated locally. If not, the student will be required to comply with the previously mentioned international student policy.
- After a review of official credentials, departments may request that the student obtain a course-by-course evaluation.
