Computer and Technical Requirements

In order to attend classes online, you will need a high speed internet connection and modern computer. Our online courses are delivered over a system called Desire2Learn. Please run their system check on your computer. 

Minimum System Requirements for Desire2Learn LE 10.0

In order to make the most of your online learning experience, there are several technical requirements you will need to fulfill. Refer to the guidelines below to help ensure your online success:

Microsoft Windows

• Windows XP (Service Pack 2), Vista, or 7
• 2GB RAM
• High speed internet connection (Cable, DSL, FiOS)
• Working soundcard and speakers/headphones
• One of the following browsers with Java and cookies enabled: Firefox (recommended), Internet Explorer 9 (recommended). Chrome (supported)
• Sun Java Runtime Environment [JRE] 1.6 update 31 (recommended)

Macintosh

• Mac OS X (Lion 10.7 and above)
• 2GB RAM
• High speed internet connection (Cable, DSL, FiOS)
• Working soundcard and speakers/headphones
• One of the following browsers with Java and cookies enabled: Firefox 6 (recommended), Safari 5.1 (supported), Chrome (supported)
• Sun Java Runtime Environment [JRE] 1.6 update 31 (recommended)

It is recommended that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed, Adobe Reader, QuickTime, and Windows Media Components (for Macintosh users). Some professors may require you to download additional software to complete course work.

Can you use your mobile device to access your courses?

• iOS, Android, and Blackberry devices can access mobile, limited versions of your online courses.
• Not all content and tools within your online course will be accessible via your mobile device.
• iPhones, iPads, Droid phones and tablets, etc. do not meet the minimum technical requirements for your online course.
