Summer Financial Aid
Students that apply for Summer Financial Aid will begin to receive Financial Aid Award notification in early May.
If you would like to be eligible for federal, state and institutional financial aid assistance for the 2013 Summer sessions, you must complete a 2013-2014 FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
The results of your FAFSA will determine if you qualify for a Federal Pell Grant, Pennsylvania State Grant, Federal Work Study, Federal Stafford Loans, Federal PLUS Loans, or Private Alternative Loans.
PLEASE NOTE: Any student enrolled at least half-time for summer and who has completed a FAFSA will automatically be awarded Federal Stafford loans for the summer, fall, and spring semesters. For example, if your maximum Stafford loan eligibility is $5500, your award will be $1870 for the summer and $1815 for each fall and spring semester. If you will not be attending one of those semesters, or would like to cancel your loans, you must contact the financial aid office prior to disbursement. If you are enrolled less than half time for summer, your loans will still be packaged for the summer, fall, and spring semesters. If you do not register for enough classes by June 13, 2013, your loans will be adjusted.
A completed 2013 Pennsylvania Summer State Grant Application must be submitted to State Grant and Special Programs of PHEAA no later than Aug. 15th, if you would like to apply for the Pennsylvania State Grant during the summer term.
If you are seeking summer work study employment, you must meet all federal Title IV eligibility requirements. We encourage you to check the work study employment posting on this web site on a daily basis. Jobs are posted when new positions become available and when vacancies occur. When interviewing for a position, you should bring along a printed copy of your work study award notice to prove you are eligible for work study employment.
