    Faculty Scholarship Recipient

    2012: Meet Conner Marshman

Portrait of Conner Marshman“My name is Connor Marshman, and I was privileged to receive the Faculty Scholarship from California University of Pennsylvania.

“I am from Pleasant Hills, Pa., and I completed my high school education at Thomas Jefferson High School.

“I am majoring in graphics and multimedia, and would like to minor in marketing or business. I also have an interest in joining the Art Club and Studio 224, but I would certainly not limit myself to these options.

“So far, I have found my major's coursework very engaging. The workload has been manageable and given me time to enjoy the many other activities the university offers.

“Receiving the Faculty Scholarship has been a true gift, because it has allowed me to focus on my time here at Cal U without financial distractions. With this burden eliminated, I can give hundred percent of my effort to my education and my experiences at the university.

“I cannot stress how thankful I am for the gracious faculty contributions to my education!”

    2011 - Ashlyn Neiffer

Portrait of Ashlyn Neiffer. “My name’s Ashlyn Neiffer and I am from Pottstown, Pa. I am the recipient of the Faculty Scholarship for the Class of 2015.

“I am a Graphic Design major and also planning on minoring in Spanish.

“I’m very involved in a number of activities here at Cal U, including Studio 224, the Cal U Marching Band, and Cal U Defiance Winter Guard. I’m also a layout designer of the Cal U Honors Newsletter, and I participate in the theater department.

“My coursework has been great so far; I’m finding it very intriguing and rising to new challenges.

“Being selected for the Faculty Scholarship has been such a fantastic blessing. Knowing that I won’t have so much to pay back in loans when I graduate releases a great burden and has allowed me to fully enjoy participating in all different aspects of life at Cal that I may not have had the chance to otherwise.

“I am truly grateful to all of the faculty members for allowing me this wonderful opportunity.”
