The Department of Music and Theatre is Cal U’s home for the performing arts.

As music and theater professionals, faculty in the Department of Music and Theatre are committed to:

  • Developing students’ talents.
  • Fostering an appreciation of the performing arts.
  • Preparing undergraduates for entry-level careers, self-employment or graduate school.

Performance opportunities

The Department of Music and Theatre offers a wide range of educational and performance opportunities for students in all majors. Cal U’s talented instrumental and vocal musicians, actors and dancers regularly perform on campus and in the broader community. Students must audition for roles with some ensembles; other groups are open to any interested student.

California University of Pennsylvania is a member of the National Association for Schools of Theatre, an educational affiliate of Estill Voice International and an AVID Learning Partner offering Pro Tools Certification.
