Lisa Brovey-Kovach

Biography

Mezzo soprano Lisa Brovey-Kovach earned her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in voice performance from Duquesne University. She performs frequently as soloist in operas, musicals, concerts, and recitals. She has sung in over thirty opera productions with the Pittsburgh Opera as a member of the Opera Chorus, as well as performing the role of Sister Lillianne in the Pittsburgh premiere of Dead Man Walking. Some of her favorite opera roles performed have been The Mother in Amahl and The Night Visitors, Miss Jessel in The Turn of the Screw, and Arminda in LaFinta Giardiniera. Her musical theater roles include The Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, Bloody Mary in South Pacific, and Golde in The Fiddler on the Roof. She is a past Pittsburgh Concert Society Winner. Lisa has been an adjunct professor at Cal U, teaching private voice instruction since 2002, and adjunct professor of private voice at Point Park University since 1995. Lisa, along with her husband, Joe, and two daughters, live in Long Branch Borough.
