Biography

Dr. William Biddington earned the degree of Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from West Virginia University in 1975, with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Athletic Training.  He obtained his Master of Science in Professional Physical Education in 1980 and completed his doctoral degree from West Virginia University in 1994.  Dr. Biddington received his certification from the NATABOC in 1976 and was certified as an Athletic Trainer by the Pennsylvania Board of Medicine, Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs in 1986.  He is serving as the Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) at the university for the last 12 years.  Currently, he is a professor in the Department of Exercise Science and Sport Studies at California University of Pennsylvania. 

Dr. Biddington has been extremely involved in his profession since he began his career in 1976 at California University of Pennsylvania. The following are examples of some his contributions:

Dr. Biddington served as head athetic trainer and instructor at California University of Pennsylvania from 1976 to 1991. He was instrumental in the development and implementation of both the accredited undergraduate and graduate athletic training education programs at Cal U. In addition, he has expanded the department from five original faculty members to 35 by 2009, with 15 of those faculty members being ATCs. This was the direct result of adding numerous academic programs, both face-to-face and online.  The administration and faculty at California University have demonstrated their confidence in Dr. Biddington by appointing or electing him to the following institution-wide committees and councils:

Dr. Biddington is member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society, Inc. and the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculty.
