Without a doubt, understanding the complexities of human communication and gaining proficiency in communication skills are two key foundations for attaining a high level of personal and professional success in a democratic society. Our Bachelor of Arts program in the Communication, Design and Culture Department is designed to give students a better understanding of the complexities of human communication as it transpires in a variety of contexts; from the everyday arenas of interpersonal, organizational and public communication to the more specific professional forms of communication involved in public relations and broadcast media.
Our curriculum is comprehensive and our students have the option of concentrating their study in one of three areas of emphasis--Public Relations, Radio and Television or a more general option in Speech Communication. In addition to our B.A., we also offer minors in Public Communication, Public Relations and Television Production for those outside of our major who wish to add comprehensive study in communication to their major academic program of study.
In addition to our academic curriculum, we also provide our students with an opportunity to improve on their personal and professional communication skills through courses, clubs and activities such as the Public Relations Student Society of America and the Vulcan Speech and Debate Union.

"Temp agencies are an excellent way to get your foot in the door of a company. Find yourself, follow your passion and enjoy yourself in your career. Focus on your differentiators and derailers. Also, don't allow your downfalls to be the downfall of your career. Avoid being blindsided, and accelerate learning by actively soliciting and leveraging feedback."
