Psychology: Student Honor Societies and Clubs

Psi Chi

Psi Chi is the national honor society for psychology students.  Membership in Psi Chi is by invitation only. To be invited for membership, you need to have completed nine credit hours in psychology, have a 3.0 GPA or better in psychology, and a 3.25 or better overall GPA. Cal U usually conducts one induction ceremony per year. In addition to the induction ceremony, there are varied meetings and service projects throughout the year, usually conducted jointly with the Psychology Club. For additional information, contact Dr. Carrie Rosengart, Psi Chi advisor.

Psychology Club

The department also has a Psychology Club, where you can meet other students interested in psychology, hear speakers from various community agencies that involve psychological services and learn about research that is ongoing in the department.  The Psychology Club has been useful to many students in providing a sense of direction during their undergraduate years in the department. A wealth of inside information about classes, faculty, research interests, internships and graduate training in psychology or other fields is exchanged informally among the organization members.  If you would like further information regarding the Psychology Club, contact Dr. Rebecca Regeth, the club's adviser.
