Through the combination of a rigorous curriculum and hands-on learning, California University of Pennsylvania prepares undergraduates for exciting careers in the fields of applied engineering and technology. Our Applied Engineering and Technology (AET) Department is highly accredited and internationally recognized, receiving top honors as a model program. Our program offers five associate degrees along with six bachelor degrees, and our graduates often receive top placements within their fields of study.

  • Our programs are award winning, such as the Outstanding Technology Teacher Education Program Award granted to us by ITEEA, the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association.
  • All of our programs come with top-notch and selective accreditation. Our graphics and multimedia program, for example, is one of only 13 in the nation accredited by the Accrediting Council for Collegiate Graphic Communications Inc., known as ACCGC.

Graduate Outcomes

 

Most areas of engineering and technology are showing an increase, although some are projected to show only minor growth as a result of decreased manufacturing. Because of Cal U's top accreditation and awards, AET graduates have received exceptional placements. Technology education grads have boasted a 97% placement rate over the last 12 years, and a 2014 survey of electrical engineering grads reveals that 100% were either working or pursuing higher degrees. Other AET degrees have followed this same arc, with the success of the programs allowing Cal U to build a large network of prospective employers.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

Cal U has six computer and electrical engineering labs on campus, along with a mechatronics and robotics lab, a cutting-edge computer lab, and at least six locations dedicated to graphics and multimedia. These facilities, and others, allow for invaluable hands-on experience.

Small Class Sizes, Big Results

Class sizes are limited - usually 10 to 20 are in a class - so you can build relationships with your peers while also receiving personalized attention and instruction from our faculty.
