Marketing Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.)

About Marketing

Prepare for a successful career with a well-rounded business education.

Enter the job market with a strong portfolio of business knowledge and skills. The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at PennWest California offers you courses that focus on business fundamentals along with specialized skills in marketing so you're ready for an evolving business environment.

The bachelor's degree in business administration program is built on business core courses that provide a solid foundation. In addition, you'll choose a discipline for in-depth study: the marketing bachelors program is one of seven concentrations that give business students the opportunity to develop focused expertise.

Learn practical applications of marketing principles.

Specialized courses in marketing examine such topics as customer relations management, e-marketing, principles of selling and more. The Principles of Marketing course, for instance, serves as an introduction to the marketing discipline, covering such topics as identification of target markets, understanding population demographics and psychographics, the four Ps (product, price, place, promotion) of marketing, social responsibility, marketing segmentation, and more.

In the business administration program, business study is enhanced with PennWest California's focus on developing quantitative, critical thinking and analytical skills.  You will graduate not only with a demonstrated competence in your subject area, but also the ability and tools to apply that knowledge.

Business administration students are also required to have a minor:

  • Some students choose a business discipline other than their concentration.
  • Other popular choices include psychology, communication studies, public relations, statistics, computer information systems, leadership, women's studies, Spanish and Arabic.
  • Students also may choose to complete dual majors or dual degrees with international studies or math.

PennWest California business graduates are ready for a wide range of career opportunities. Recent PennWest California business and marketing graduates also have gone on to graduate business programs at such top schools as the University of Pittsburgh, West Virginia University and the College of William and Mary, and to graduate economics programs at Youngstown State and Florida State.
