SociEty for Human Resource Management

Take Your HR Career to a New Level!

Expert instruction prepares you to sit for the SHRM certification exam.

Certification by the Society for Human Resource Management is a widely respected mark of excellence within the human resource industry.

In affiliation with SHRM®, California University of Pennsylvania offers the SHRM Certified Professional/SHRM Senior Certified Professional Certification Preparation Course.

The 3-credit course provides comprehensive and effective preparation for the exams with a hybrid delivery model that combines face-to-face instruction with the latest SHRM Learning System.

Classes begin Aug. 26 and meet on campus from 4-5:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays with associate professor Dr. Stephanie Adam, an experienced HR professional. Class size is limited.

The course focuses on the eight behavioral competencies covered in the SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge:

  • Relationship Management.
  • Leadership and Navigation.
  • Global and Cultural Effectiveness.
  • Ethical Practice.
  • Business Acumen.
  • Critical Evaluation.

Note: Course completion does not guarantee success on the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP exam. Students must use the most recent edition of the SHRM educational products for this course and may not use outdated materials.

Give yourself a competitive edge with SHRM certification.

SHRM certification demonstrates your HR knowledge, competency and value to colleagues and employers.

The SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certifications are built on the SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge. More than an exam outline, the SHRM-BoCK® defines the standards for knowledge, strategies and competencies required for effective HR professionals around the world.
