SPEAK OUT! & LOUD Crowd

What is SPEAK OUT! & LOUD Crowd?

SPEAK OUT! is a speech therapy program specifically designed for persons with Parkinson’s disease to assist them in improving the voice and speech and swallowing! This program is typically completed in 12 sessions in a four-week period with transition to the LOUD crowd.

The SPEAK OUT! & LOUD Crowd therapy regimens were developed at Parkinson Voice Project in Richardson, TX.

The LOUD Crowd is group therapy for participants that have graduated from the SPEAK OUT! program and meets once per week. Every Friday at 11a.m. (on the academic calendar, institution closure schedule followed).

When and where can I receive services?

SPEAK OUT! is offered two days a week through the day 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. PennWest California Speech & Hearing Clinic offers therapy both in person or through teletherapy modality.

When should I begin seeing a speech therapist for my Parkinsons Diesease?

“Up to 90% of people with Parkinson’s are at high risk of losing their ability to speak, and swallowing complications account for 70% of the mortality rate in this patient population. Our vision at Parkinson Voice Project is to make our highly effective speech therapy program accessible to people with Parkinson’s worldwide,” said Parkinson Voice Project’s Founder and CEO Samantha Elandary.

When and where can I receive services?

Current PennWest California provides all services including these services free of charge to those who qualify. This includes participation in the LOUD Crowd and all other teletherapy services.
