Through an agreement between the University and the Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union (PSECU), the CalCard also serves as an ATM card, if you choose the banking option.

Online CalCard services are available at Make Shop Dollar deposits, view your account balances and transaction history, and suspend activity on your Calcard all on the web. This feature allows students and family members to make Shop Dollar or Dine Dollar deposits, via the web, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Services and Accounts

Access Student Housing - If you reside in a residence hall on the lower campus, use your CalCard to access your residence hall.

Meals on Campus - If you're enrolled in a meal plan, you will automatically receive a Dine Account on your CalCard. That means all you have to do is swipe your card at places like the Food Court, coffee shop and Gold Rush. Your meal account will be reduced by one meal each time you use your card.

Banking/Financial Services - On-campus financial services are offered to students, faculty and staff through the Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union (PSECU) in conjunction with the CalCard. You can elect to have your CalCard activated for use as an ATM card associated with your account. The PSECU E-Center is located in the Natali Student Center. ATMs are located at the Natali Student Center, Dixon Hall, and the Convocation Center.

Shop - Think of your CalCard Shop Account as your master debit account for every on-campus purchase. Use it to buy books and supplies at the Cal U Student Bookstore, pay for laundry services in the residence halls, make purchases at vending machines, purchase tickets and services at the Information Desk - and a lot more.

Entertainment* - If you have paid your Student Association fee, use your CalCard to receive free admission to the Vulcan Movie Theater, Comedy Night, the Underground Café and most entertainment events sponsored by the Student Association Inc.

Fitness Center* - The CalCard allows students unlimited access to Herron Recreation and Fitness Center. All you have to do is pay the fee when it appears on your billing statement. Faculty, staff and alumni who have purchased a membership may also use their CalCard to gain admission to the fitness center.

What is the difference between Dine Dollars and Shop Dollars?

Dine Dollars can be used only at dining service locations on campus. Dine Dollars roll over from the fall to the spring semester. At the end of the spring semester, any remaining Dine Dollars are forfeited.

Shop Dollars can be used for point-of-sale purchases at a variety of on-campus locations (vending machines, bookstore, Natali Information Center, Concession, food service, laundry facilities and more). Shop Dollars remain in your account until you graduate or withdraw from the University.

Does the Money Carry Over from Semester to Semester?

Yes. The Shop Dollars that you have in your CalCard carry over as long as you are enrolled at Cal U. You can only get a refund on Shop Dollars if you officially withdraw from the University. At that time, you must send the CalCard Office written notice and verification of your complete withdrawal. Dine Dollars only carry over from fall to spring semesters.

CalCard Banking Option

As a result of an agreement between California University of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union (PSECU), your CalCard can also be used as an ATM card. PSECU is the largest credit union in Pennsylvania, specializing in low-cost financial services. All California University of Pennsylvania students, employees, alumni and their immediate families are eligible for membership.  PSECU offers a variety of services, such as free custom checks, free overdraft protection and no minimum balance to earn interest. For more information, visit the PSECU California University of Pennsylvania E-Center located in the Natali Student Center.

What If You Lose or Misplace Your CalCard?

A lost or stolen CalCard should be reported to the CalCard Office during regular business hours. Students can also suspend activity on their CalCard through the online card office. If your card has ATM capability, you must also contact PSECU at 1-800-799-4337 to prevent access to your PSECU account.
