Cal U's 183rd Commencement Celebration
Friday, December 16, 2016 at 7 p.m.
Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 10 a.m.
Commencement ceremonies are held two times per year, in May and December. August 2016 graduates are invited to attend the December 2016 commencement ceremony. August 2016 graduation applications were due on June 18, 2016.
REMINDER: All Prospective December 2016 Graduates
APPLICATIONS WERE DUE ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2016. Graduation is not automatic; students must apply if intending to graduate at the end of the fall semester. Graduation information and details will be sent ONLY to students who have applied by the deadline of September 23, 2016.

Are you ready for commencement next weekend? With only 10 days left, we are working hard on last minute details to ensure a memorable event for all involved. Even if you aren’t planning to attend commencement, please review the checklist below to make sure you are on track as we near the end of the semester.
If you have not taken care of the items listed, please be sure to do so immediately.
Purchase proper regalia (cap and gown) from the University bookstore.
RSVP (whether attending or not attending) for the President’s Dinner for Graduates by Thursday, December 8.
Return parking permit (if applicable).
Did or will your address change??? If so, please complete the Student Information Change Form and submit to Academic Records ASAP. Please ensure your address is correct for mailing of your diploma and other official University documents.
Clear up all outstanding student accounts (e.g., financial aid, health insurance, bursar, and library).
Register and upload your resume on Hire CALYOU (Cal U’s online career center) at as soon as possible.Don’t miss out on possible job opportunities! Your resume will be reviewed and approved for posting online by a Career & Professional Development Center staff member so that it is ready to be referred to hiring employers.
Consider giving to the 2016 Senior Class Gift Drive (earn special privileges and receive a red tassel). Make your gift online by visiting https://www.calu.edu/giving/give-online/class-gift-drive/index.jsp. Gifts are also being collected at offices of The Foundation for Cal U located on the 2nd Floor of the Kara Alumni House, or by visiting the Class of 2016 Gift Drive table during the President’s Dinner for Graduates/Commencement Rehearsal on Thursday, December 15! Please make all checks payable to the “Foundation for California University of Pennsylvania.”
If you are attending the ceremony, please look for emails on final details and instructions, including seat assignments and line-up locations. Emails will be sent from this account and from your dean’s office (Wendi Jacobs, School of Graduate Studies and Research). A reminder that NO TICKETS are issued for commencement.
For anyone not able to attend commencement, the ceremonies can be viewed via live stream on the internet. Details for viewing the ceremonies and an electronic copy of the commencement program will be posted late next week. By participating in the Class Gift Drive, you will receive the following gifts:
Student name listed in the commencement program.
A red tassel with a “Class of 2016” charm to wear on your mortarboard identifying you as a supporter of the Class of 2016 Gift Drive.
A California University of Pennsylvania Alumni License plate frame for gifts of $20.16 or more.

Undergraduate Commencement Honors Determination Emails:
Emails were sent on 10/20/16 to December 2016 undergraduate students who qualify for honors cords and to August 2016 undergraduate graduates who have earned academic honors. An email was also sent to undergraduate students who will not qualify based on resident credit hour issues. Students are advised to please check their Cal U email accounts for possible honors determinations and to refer to our academic honors policy. The Bookstore will have a listing of qualifying students and will distribute honors cords beginning on the date of the Graduation Fair through commencement day.

- Graduation Promotion: PSECU is providing money toward graduation gear for current members and those who apply for membership in person during the promotional period. The vouchers are in limited supply, so stop by the PSECU office in the Natali Student Center soon. This promotion runs October 24 through December 16, 2016.
