Bryan Burnstein

Originally from Michigan, Bryan earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training with a triple minor in exercise science, athletic coaching, and leadership from Central Michigan University in 2002. In 2003 he became the head athletic trainer/strength and conditioning coach for the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL and served in this role for four seasons. In 2005, Bryan earned his master's degree in human performance and injury prevention from California University of Pennsylvania. In 2007, Burnstein began his career with the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil.  Bryan is a Certified Athletic Trainer (NATABOC), Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM), Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM), Fitness Nutrition Specialist (NASM) Advanced Sports Performance Coach (USAW), and is also certified in the Functional Movement Screen system.

Bryan has been with Cirque du Soleil since 2007 and is now the head of performance science within the Coaching & Performance Department. Bryan works with both internal and external partners leading research on factors that affect workload, fatigue, and recovery.  He also manages the integration of strength and conditioning, nutrition, and psychological services and was recently nominated as one of the top 40 Under 40 in the world.
