Dr. Fanourios Halkiadakis

Biography

Over the years Dr. Halkiadakis has been a faculty member at various universities, where he taught courses, published a few papers in IEEE and ASEE journals, and guided senior design projects in the area of electrical engineering. He is a senior member of the IEEE and has held several offices in various societies/councils. Additionally, he is a licensed professional engineer (P.E.) in the state of California, where he worked as forensic engineer and expert witness for the insurance industry.

 

At PennWest California, he has taught entry- to senior-level courses in electrical engineering technology. He has developed several new courses in the area of power systems, serves as faculty adviser to the student technology club, offers his services to various departmental and university-wide committees, teaches the senior project design course, and has been instrumental with ABET re-accreditation efforts and laboratory renovations. He is currently the coordinator of the Electrical Engineering Technology and the Computer Engineering Technology programs..

Research Interests

Power systems/electronics, renewable energy, simulation/modeling, regulations and standards, circuit theory, technical writing in astronomy and music synthesizers.
