Biography
Dr. Spicer is an associate professor and director of the University's Speech and Debate Team. He teaches classes in Rhetoric and Media Studies and is interested in Visual Rhetoric -- particularly how forms of visual culture reflect ideological and political committements. He is currently working on scholarship on the visual landscape fascism and its preoccupation with highly sexualized and militant images. He served as department chairperson for eight years, from 2009-2017.
