Biography

Margaret ‘Greta' Schottman completed her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind.

While completing her studies, she joined the faculty of the Indiana University String Academy where she taught private lessons and theory classes for three years.

Since arriving in Pennsylvania, she has been an active performer and teacher.

She serves as principal cellist for the Washington Symphony Orchestra and was recently featured as a soloist, performing music from the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

She is also a member of the Morningside Trio, which has been heard on Classical QED 89.3.  

Professor Schottman directs the PennWest California String Orchestra, which performs a variety of string, symphonic and chamber music.
