Biography
Pinkham was the art director of Dargate Auction Galleries in Pittsburgh, Pa., from 1994-2002. Among his duties, he marketed and sold more than $2 million worth of paintings. He currently serves as an appraiser for Merryvale Antiques, Boxheart Expressions Gallery and 3rd Street Gallery in Pittsburgh. He is a founding member of Atrium Galley Space in Rochester, N.Y., where he arranged for invitational and traveling exhibitions, prepared gallery space and installed shows, and created promotional materials to increase attendance. He also has done graphic design work as a staff artist for RKWD Advertising in Somerset, Pa.
His one-person exhibitions have included Society Circus at the International Children's Art Gallery in Pittsburgh, Todd Pinkham at Seneca Valley, Seneca Valley High School, Seething Walls and Bubblegum Skulls, Boxheart Expressions Gallery and Untold Truths at the Community College of Allegheny County Visual Arts Center Gallery.
His juried shows have included Visual Oasis, a 30-foot painted dome for the Burning Man Festival, Black Rock City, Nev.; Futuristic Art, Associated Artists of Butler County, The Art Center, Butler, Pa.; and the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh 97th annual juried show, juried by Polly Apfelbaum, Carnegie Museum, Pittsburgh.
He has participated in invitationals such as the Donora 60th Anniversary Smog Event, where he was asked to create a mural for a new museum.
He also has shown works at curated shows, group shows, and charity shows and auctions.
Among his areas of service at PennWest California, he serves in the New Faculty Member Mentoring Program and on the Departmental Outcomes Assessment Committee. He also was a curator of a student exhibition during Academic Excellence Week in 2008.
Among his areas of service off campus, he is a member of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh. He was a visual arts judge for the Governor's School for Excellence in the Arts from 2004-2008 and a technical art judge for the Society for Technical Communication in 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
