Author to Discuss Historical Fiction

The Cal U English Department welcomes author Kathleen Shoop for a lecture at noon Monday, April 23, in Duda Hall 110.

Shoop, the author of After the Fog, a work of historical fiction that focuses on the deaths of 26 people from smog in Donora, Pa., will share her insights into research and writing.

After the Fog won a silver medal in the Independent Publisher Book Awards and received an honorable mention from the San Francisco Book Festival.

A resident of Oakmont, Pa., Shoop holds a Ph.D. in reading education and has more than 20 years of classroom experience. Her work has been featured in publications such as USA Today, the Tribune-Review and Pittsburgh Parent.

Admission is free, and the public is welcome to attend the presentation. Visitor parking is available in lots 11 and 17. Campus map and directions
