Pennsylvania school superintendents, principals and other education leaders gather with University administrators and faculty at the Convocation Center Aug. 15 as they begin their studies in Cal U’s new Doctor of Education in Education Administration and Leadership program.  After meeting in person at this opening reception, they will complete the majority of their coursework online. Among the 59 students enrolled in the program are seven superintendents, 31 principals or assistant principals, and 21 other school leaders. California alumni are well represented in these initial cohorts: 45 students have a degree or other credential from Cal U. Program director is Dr. Silvia Braidic. University President Geraldine M. Jones (center) welcomed the candidates to Cal U; keynote speaker was Dr. Patrick O’Toole (first row, third from left), Pennsylvania’s 2012 Superintendent of the Year, who recently retired as superintendent of Upper St. Clair School District.
