GACO to Sponsor Contracting Seminar

The Government Agency Coordination Office (GACO) at California University of Pennsylvania will sponsor a free seminar, “Local Contracting Opportunities,” from 9 a.m.-noon July 12 at the National Energy Technology Laboratory in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Companies will learn about local contracting opportunities in the Pittsburgh region and how to do business with these organizations. Representatives from Allegheny County, the Community College of Allegheny County, Duquesne University Small Business Center, Pittsburgh Public Schools, the Turtle Creek Valley Council of Governments, and the Allegheny County Sanitation Authority will be at the event. Topics include contracting opportunities, vendor registration, procurement policies, certification requirements and best practices in marketing.

GACO is a Procurement Technical Assistance Center based at Cal U, with satellite offices in Pittsburgh and at Slippery Rock University. It serves businesses in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Greene and Washington County. Since 1985, the office has helped companies to obtain more than $3.7 billion in contracts.
