As the Nov. 6 midterm elections draw closer, Cal U continues to provide opportunities for students to learn about the issues that are important to them.

Two events are planned for Oct. 30.

Pennsylvania Promise: A discussion on proposed legislation in Pennsylvania that would address the cost of attending the 14 schools in Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education, as well as state-related schools. Panelists are Kevin Koury, dean of the College of Education and Human Services;  Susan Morris Rutledge, assistant professor, Secondary Education and Administrative Leadership; Sean Crampsie, director of government relations for the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties; and India Washington, a student and Campus Election Engagement Project fellow.

The discussion will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 30 in the Natali Student Center, Room 206/207.

Midterms Matter: Comparative Health Care Policy: The documentary Fix It — Healthcare at the Tipping Point will be screened at 4 p.m. Oct. 30 in Duda Hall, Room 303. The screening is part of the Master of Social Work class but is open to members of the University community and the public. Dr. Mary O’Connor, professor of nursing at Cal U, will take questions after the documentary.
