Nearly 200 men donned high-heeled shoes on April 26 and — gingerly — paraded across campus as Cal U participated for the eighth year in the international program known as Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. "This event is a fun opportunity for men to educate our campus about a serious subject and rally the community to take action and prevent sexual assault," said graduating senior and event emcee Kara Smith, who is the public relations intern for Cal U's Women's Center and End Violence Center. "Together today in your high heels, you're demonstrating that men are willing and able to be courageous partners with women in making the world a safer place, because it's on all of us." The event was sponsored by the End Violence Center to raise awareness about sexual violence and men's role in preventing it.
