The funding will continue programs to help local businesses interested in government contracting.
California University of Pennsylvania's Government Agency Coordination Office (GACO) has announced more than $365,000 in funding for fiscal year 2019-2020 to continue a program to help local businesses interested in government contracting.
GACO received a $233,330 grant from Defense Logistics Agency, part of the U.S. Department of Defense, through a co-operative agreement with California University. The agency also received a $135,000 grant from the Allegheny Foundation of Pittsburgh.
As a Procurement Technical Assistance Center, GACO assists companies in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Greene and Washington counties with the process of government contracting at a federal, state and local level.
GACO, which has locations at Cal U, Slippery Rock University, and in Pittsburgh, has aided area businesses in securing over $3.9 billion in government contracts since 1985.
